TouchOsc

As you can probably guess from this and my last post, I'm very excited about the musical possibilities of the iPhone and iPod touch.

One of my favourite apps at the moment is TouchOsc. This allows your iPhone or iPod touch to control your music software such as Ableton Live, Reason or Logic in much the same way as the Jazzmutant Lemur - but at a fraction of the cost.

Technobox For iPhone

Technobox for the iphone is the best TB303, 808 & 909 emulator so far released on the iPhone platform. What makes it different from other similar apps is it's interface. It plays to the strengths of the format rather than just bolting on an interface better suited to another device. The 24 pattern buttons are a good example of this as they allow you to switch between them easily without going to a different screen. Another benefit of the interface is that the buttons and dials are well lit so you could use the app in low light environments such as a club.
